Project 3
Automating Reporting and Simplifying Insights
Turning a time consuming reporting process into a streamlined, reliable and easy to use Excel solution.

The Challenge
The reporting process was manual, complex, inconsistent and left far too much room for interpretation.
- Data had to be gathered from multiple systems and Excel files.
- Reports took several days to compile.
- High risk of errors and inconsistencies.
- Long narrative-based reports made interpretation higher and comparison harder.
- Different teams used different formats and metrics.

My Approach
1. Understand the process
Interviewed users and reviezed the existing reporting workflow and pain points.
2. Map & Simplify
Mapped data sources and activities to identify inefficiencies and repetitive tasks.
3. Automate with Excel
Built an automated Excel template using Power Query and formulas.
4. Design the report
Created a clean, fact-based report focused on key metrics and visuals.
5. Validate & refine
Tested with users, incorporated feedback and finalized the tool.
6. Document & train
Developed a clear guide and trained teams to use the new solution.

What I Learned
Automation is not just about saving time. It is about removing friction, improving accuracy and helping people make better decisions.
- Focus on the user workflow before building the solution.
- Simple, consistent visuals communicate more effectively.
- Data quality and structure are the foundation of reliable reports.
- Clear documentation and training are key to driving adoption.
